Light Wave: Optic

The study of light and the interaction of light and matter is termed optics. The observation and study of optical phenomena such as rainbows and the aurora borealis offer many clues as to the nature of light. (Source: Light) This phenomenon is called refraction where the when the light wave go through a medium filled with water the light will refract or change direction from an angle where the light came from. For instance, a straw look bend when it is put in a glass of water.

The theory apply the same towards rainbow as after the rain stop the light will be refracted from the fog that rise up from the ground because of the different temperature of the ground and the rain that cause a rainbow to form.

Speed of Light.

Speed of light? It is a term where we always heard in science fiction movie that involve travelling in speed of light. Such as, Star Wars, Star Trek, and many more movie that involve in using speed of light terms. Speed of light could be say impossible to be achieve as the technology that we have nowadays are still inferior compare to theories that were once assume by book writer that in 22th century we will reach an age where speed of light would be possible or even better androids to humans' labour without asking question or know the meaning of tired. Plus when one's travel in speed of light, the greater the mass the slower the time moves.

Basically, speed of light travel 299,792,458 m/s (approximately 186,282 miles per second). It like we go to jupiter under 22 minutes. I must say that it is damn fast even if we travel by car and yet it is scientifically impossible for that to happen but still isn't it would be a wonder if one day we're able to achieve that era.

Let there be Light!

After a three entry that explain about science and technology.  I think I should be writing about my main focus of doing this blog that is to explain what is light in the concept of science and technology. What is light? Except for knowing it's able to provide brightness. Do we actually knows what is the capabilities of "light"? 

Light is just one portion of the various electromagnetic waves flying through space. The electromagnetic spectrum covers an extremely broad range, from radio waves with wavelengths of a meter or more, down to x-rays with wavelengths of less than a billionth of a meter. Optical radiation lies between radio waves and x-rays on the spectrum, exhibiting a unique mix of ray, wave, and quantum properties. (Source: What is light?)

Light is like other electromagnetic wave, light wave can interfere with each other. Meaning that even if light is travelling in straight line yet when they are directionally polarised the edge of the light will slightly bend in which that is practice in laser technology. What is technology?

Assalamualaikum W.B.T. from my previous entry I've explained about science now it's time for technology to be explain. Technology is an invention that is developed through experiments and collected facts that will contribute in developing them. Scientist will usually encounter trials and errors before discover the most suitable method in inventing new technology.

From an honest point of view, technology is all around us. We live through our live with technology surround us. During afternoon, we will switch on the fan to avoid from heat of scorching sun and switch off the light before we sleep to avoid feeling annoyed from the brightness of the fluoresces light bulb. 

What is Science?

Assalamualaikum and good day I bid to one and all. As stated in my previous blog I would like to explain a more in-depth regarding science and technology. So, for my second entry I will enhance your understanding regarding science.

The word "science" is a big word if you tell me. Because just from that one particular word many different picture entered my mind. Since science alone able to cover different aspect that involve in our lives directly or indirectly whether we realise it or not.

• Science is both a body of knowledge and a process. In educational field, science as an educational subject may sometimes seem like a collection of isolated and static facts or proven theories that are listed in a textbook, but that's only a small part of the story.

• Science is exciting since it is a way of encounter new things to discover in the universe and how it works, how it happened, and how it affect other beings. Scientists that are specialised in their own field are motivated by the thrill of seeing or figuring out something that no one has before. 

• Science is useful because from the knowledge generated from experiments or theories that have proven to be useful in developing new technology, treat diseases, and deal with many other sorts of problems.

An Introduction To Science & Technology.

Assalamualaikum W.B.T good day I bid to one and all. Before I start with anything I would like to ask you. Do you know what science is? Do you know what technology is? Well, if you don't please continue reading this article and if you do please continue as well since you might not know that there might be a few things that you don't know what science or technology is. Because some of us only scratch the surface of what are those really are. 

I'll explain a little bit regarding science.

"Science an investigation of natural phenomena through observation, experimentation, and theoretical explanation. Science makes use of the scientific method, which includes the careful observation of natural phenomena, the formulation of a hypothesis, the conducting of one or more experiments totest the hypothesis, and the drawing of a conclusion that confirms or modifies the hypothesis."(Source: The free Dictionary)
